Let’s Make The Pietra Pant

These have to be one of my most favourite trouser patterns, seem as I own 6 pair!  so, in the spirit of sharing the love we bring you the Pietra Pant Online Workshop

The Pietra Pants or Shorts are the best of both worlds; a flat front, high-waisted silhouette with the comfort of an elastic waist in the back. Featuring lengthening panels in the front with slanted hip pockets and a hidden waist stay, you’ll never want to take them off.

This workshop will be held over 2 consecutive days for 4.5 hours each.

It is advised to have prepped your pattern by cutting or traced out possible – Depending on your sewing level it may not be possible to fully complete your project and have some small minor areas to work on after.

Day 1 you will be introduced into basic trouser pattern alterations. – You may wish to book a 121 to work on this prior to the weekend.

Pattern lay out and cutting out your fabric. Construction of front pocket with top stitching. Assembly of the additional front trouser piece

Day 2 we will attach the back pant piece. Attach facings and elastic. Complete topstitching And hem!

WHAT YOU WILL NEED
2- 3 mtrs of fabric depending on what view you wish to make-

This pattern can be made with a variety of fabrics depending on the desired effect. For a more defined shape, use structured wovens such as linen, chambray, or lightweight denim or twill (heavyweight wovens may create too much volume at the elastic waist). For a swishy, glamorous look, use rayon challis, tencel, or silk.

• 2” (50mm) wide elastic, knit or woven (1 yd / .9m)
• Lightweight non-stretch fusible interfacing (.25 yd / .25m)
• Polyester thread

Sewing kit – scissors, pins, fabric markers etc.
