Want to learn to sew but not sure where to start, had a new machine from Santa, or simply need some confidence building? Then our Intro to machine sewing will be perfect to get you up and stitching.
This workshop is ideal for complete beginners and designed to get you to grips with the basics of machine sewing, while developing new skills and techniques in producing a beautiful Zipped Cosmetic Purse with feature contrast front.
We’re sure you will leave feeling confident with using a sewing machine, have top tips to hand, ready to tackle your next project!

Total beginners of all ages or those returning to sewing and need some confidence refreshers.
WHAT YOU WILL LEARN
The different parts of the sewing machine
How to wind a bobbin. thread the machine, change a needle and presser foot.
Explore different stitches and learn when to use them
Stitch and Flip techniques
Inserting a Zip
Sewing with fusible fleece
How to lay out fabric, pin a pattern template to your fabric and cut out accurately
WHAT YOU WILL NEED
Your Machine with accessories, power cable and instruction book OR book one of the studio machines if you do not have a machine and looking at a future purchase
Basic sewing tools – e.g pins scissors, tape measure, pencil
2 FQ of medium weight cotton fabric and coordinating thread.
we have a full range of cottons in the studio to choose from if you wish and we are happy to advice where required.
