Sewcation Weekend

This must be the Ultimate in Sewing Workshops. Two and Half days of pure sewing… who could ask for more.

Set in the beautiful Derbyshire Countryside with gorgeous surroundings and comfortable accommodation, indulge yourself with some you time and submerge yourself into the thing you love to do the most …SEW

Relax, chat, learn new skills; whether it’s making the perfectly fitting trousers, learning to put a concealed zip in or just the chance to catch up with some girlfriends with a bit of sewing thrown in too, we will be there to help you along the way while you sew at your own pace.

Accommodation: rooms feature en-suites facilities with either a shower, or bath and shower combined. Complimentary towels, soap and toiletries are included to make your stay as comfortable as possible, and many are accessible rooms for anyone with reduced mobility.

Food & Drink: Our sewing Party will have a designated area within the restaurants dining room, meals provided in your stay comprise of a cooked or continental breakfast buffet style, mid-morning coffee with biscuits served in the sewing room, a light lunch back in the restaurant, afternoon tea with cake and a two-course evening meal. If you have any dietary requirements, please inform us on booking and we will let the Hayne staff know in advance.

Friday 22^nd to Sunday October 24th 2021

Friday PM: Arrive at the Haynes Conference centre from 3pm.  Unload set up your sewing station and settle into your New Haven. Once all attendees are present there will be a short welcome session. After dinner, your tutors will then be on hand to start the preparation of your sewing project(s). this session will wind down around 9.30  then it’s time to wind down perhaps gather in the Bar

Saturday: The sewing room will be available from 7am You may wish to explore the centres beautiful gardens and grounds with a morning stroll: Meet us after a delicious breakfast to begin the morning session (approx. 10.00am), there will be a skills demonstration (please let us know if there is something in particular you would like to see) We will then continue the morning session working/ guiding you on your sewing project, assisting with fit and any hints & tips throughout. Lunch will be served in the restaurant again, during the afternoon session there will be plenty of tea coffee and cakes to keep you fuelled.

The sewing room will be open until 6pm, where we will then break for evening dinner.

You will have full use of the sewing room until 11pm if you wish although this will not be tutor supported.  Again, you can choose to use the centres facilities or just chill with a good book or chat with friends.

Sunday: Today will echo the format of Saturday, with the sew room been available from 7am before breakfast: 10am Tutor demonstration followed by a lovely morning spent sewing projects prior to lunch in the restaurant. After lunch there will be the final Tutor demonstration, the final pm session we will help you wind up your sewing projects and provide you with any information you need to carry on any sewing processes at home. They’ll be time for a final cuppa before we say goodbye at 5pm.

We guarantee you will learn new techniques, processes and increase your sewing skills on this weekend. As well as have fun making a whole host of new sewing friends to take away with you.
